Kishwaukee Trail Chapter, National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1961 and serves all of McHenry County, Illinois. Chapter meetings rotate between Mondays and Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. September thru May (except Dec). In addition, there are weekend events, genealogy workshops and outings planned throughout the year.

The National Society of DAR was founded in 1890 as a service organization and currently has chapters in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 6 foreign countries. Among DAR objectives are historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavor. Any woman 18+ years who can prove lineal blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence during the American Revolution is eligible for membership.

Children may belong to Major Watson Society, Illinois Society Children of the American Revolution. This chapter is also sponsored by Kishwaukee Trail.
